Carved Bird and Bloom Terracotta Platter

An organic, free formed terracotta platter carved in relief with a bird perched among full peony like blooms and trailing leaves, the raised design standing proud of the natural clay in soft cream tones. Left unglazed on the surface, the carving shows every mark of the hand, giving it the feel of a worked wood or stone panel. The irregular curved shape and detailed relief make it a sculptural serving platter or a decorative piece to display flat or propped on a stand.
