Star Floral Terracotta Trivet

A ten point star cut from terracotta, its surface worked in raised cream slip with an all over pattern of blossoms and leaves standing proud of the warm clay ground. The relief work gives real depth and shadow to the floral design, and the star edge lifts it above a plain round. Sturdy enough to sit under a hot pot or teapot as a trivet, and handsome enough to leave out as a decorative piece or wall tile when it is not working.
