Eight Point Star Terracotta Trivet

An eight point star cut from terracotta, worked in raised cream slip with concentric bands of geometric and floral detail radiating out from a central rosette in the Islamic star tradition. The fine relief lines catch light and shadow across the warm clay, giving the piece the look of a carved architectural tile. Sturdy under a hot pot or teapot as a trivet, and striking enough to hang or stand as a decorative star tile in its own right.
